Phase II facility brings total capacity boost as company starts making 588Ah cells
CORNEX has switched on its Phase II lithium battery industrial park in Yichang, Hubei province, marking a serious step up in production capacity. The facility came online on August 9.
80GWh annual capacity with flexible production lines
The new site is designed to churn out 80GWh per year. One single plant inside the park can handle over 30GWh annually. The focus here is on R&D and large-scale manufacturing of energy storage batteries, EV batteries, and battery packs. CORNEX has rolled out an upgraded flexible intelligent manufacturing system across the whole site, which the company says raises the bar for precision and automation in the industry. The production lines are built to handle large-format cells ranging from 500Ah to 1000Ah, giving the company flexibility to serve different customer needs worldwide.
588Ah battery enters mass production on day one
On the same day the plant went live, CORNEX also kicked off mass production of its own 588Ah large-capacity energy storage cell. This cell is built for next-gen storage applications, packing higher energy density, better safety features, and a longer cycle life. According to CORNEX, the 588Ah product makes large-scale storage stations and commercial energy storage systems more economical and reliable, offering a cleaner path toward renewable energy adoption.
