The strictest battery safety order in history is about to be implemented, aiming to significantly improve the safety and reliability of new energy vehicle batteries.
On March 28, 2025, the mandatory national standard GB 3801-2025 "Safety Requirements for Power Batteries for Electric Vehicles" organized and formulated by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology was approved and issued by the State Administration for Market Regulation and the International Standardization Administration, and will be implemented on July 1, 2026. Among them, 10 lithium battery industry chain companies participated in the drafting of the new regulations. The important revisions and new items in the new regulations are thermal diffusion test (important revision), bottom impact test (new), and safety test after fast charging cycle (new).
