Many overseas energy storage companies launched new 6MWH+ large-capacity energy storage products

Recently, Fluence, Powin, IPS and other global leading energy storage companies have intensively released new products of 6MWh to 8MWh+ series energy storage systems, promoting the technical iteration of energy storage systems. The new products are designed with 20-foot and 30-foot containers, suitable for large-capacity batteries such as 314Ah, 315Ah, and 530Ah. The modular solution reduces the weight of a single module to 8 tons. Gaogong Industry Research Institute (GGII) pointed out that the current commercial battery energy storage systems are accelerating the transformation to large capacity and lightweight, and the modular innovation of energy storage systems will become the mainstream direction of the overseas market. Taking the 6.25MWh system as an example, its volume energy density is 25% higher than that of the previous generation, and it is compatible with the existing 20-foot cabinet transportation, which greatly reduces logistics costs. It is worth noting that the large-scale application of energy storage systems still faces challenges: on the one hand, the consistency management requirements of large-capacity batteries are higher; on the other hand, the surge in demand for long-term energy storage in overseas power grids has prompted energy storage battery manufacturers to accelerate the layout of multi-scenario adaptation solutions. The industry predicts that after 2025, 8MWh+ energy storage systems will dominate the field of commercial battery energy storage systems, especially for grid peak regulation and industrial and commercial energy storage needs.
