2025 is seen as a critical turning point for the energy storage industry. With the acceleration of technological iteration and the upgrading of market demand, the energy storage field is undergoing four core changes, pushing the industry into a new stage of development.

Wind turbines and batteries

1. Competition in large-capacity technology is heating up

Energy storage products have entered the "large capacity era", with comprehensive upgrades to battery cells and systems. More than 40 6MWh+ systems have emerged in the large storage field, with 392Ah battery cells + 6.25MWh systems and 587Ah battery cells becoming benchmark products. At the same time, PCS (energy storage converter) has made breakthroughs in high-power directions such as 430kW string type and silicon carbide, significantly improving system integration efficiency.

2. AI empowers the entire life cycle of energy storage

Artificial intelligence has become the biggest variable in the energy storage industry, and leading companies are accelerating their layout. From safety warnings and fault diagnosis to trading strategy optimization and intelligent operation and maintenance, AI technology has penetrated deeply. More than 20 leading companies such as Sungrow, CATL, and Huawei have built an AI energy storage ecosystem to promote the industry's transition to intelligence.

3. Grid-based energy storage meets the rigid demand of all scenarios

Industry consensus has been formed: Network construction technology is not only a rigid demand on the source and network side, but also extends to the industrial and commercial fields. The full-scenario network construction capability has become the core indicator for measuring the value of energy storage systems, promoting the dual improvement of grid stability and new energy consumption capacity.

4. Reconstruction of safety and performance standards

With the cancellation of mandatory allocation requirements in Document No. 136, energy storage systems are shifting to market-oriented operations. The industry is focusing on three major upgrade directions:
Product safety: Liquid cooling temperature control, AC/DC integrated design penetration rate increased
Installation and operation and maintenance: String-type one cluster one management technology is accelerating popularization
System innovation: The traditional 20-foot container solution is replaced by a modular and compact design

This profound change in product form and technology route indicates that the energy storage industry is shifting from "scale expansion" to "value creation". Driven by the construction of new power systems and the goal of carbon neutrality, innovative solutions with long-term energy storage, intelligent response, and multi-scenario adaptation capabilities will become the mainstream of the market.
